Speedlight Portraits with Katiemarie - Norsworthy Photography - 2012

After months of getting around to organising a days shooting for myself I have finally managed it! I love being a Photographer but rarely get the time to photograph new work for myself as Im normally full of commsions all week and fab weddings at weekends!

After holding a model search at the studio, I have chosen to work mainly with a fab local model, Katiemaire. She is also extreamly interested in Photography, which of course helps as she understands what I'm doing and wanting to acheive from the shoots!

For the Oil Seed Rape shoot, I wandered off to Matalan to find the red dress and sun hat! I had had this image in my head for sometime and was so pleased I found the right props as soon as I entered the store!

The day of the shoot turned out to be cold! A brisk wind in an exposed field! Dark grey clouds lit brilliantly by glimpses of sun, which helped in making them appear darker, Max, Katiemaries boyfriend helped with holding the lighting stand high up at the given angle to light the scene using a Nikon Speelight and the amazing Lovegrove Speedlight Bracket!

Overall I have been really excited by the resulting images, so much so that two days after that shoot we went around the ally ways of Kingsbridge, to produce more Speedlight Portraits shooting a series of Urban Street Portraits with a fashion twist. Its amazing what great backdrops and posing areas you can find by keeping your eyes open!

Please feel free to comment on the images, this is a new area for me and one im hoping will prove popular!
